The Story Bus
A Journey of Unity & Creativity
This Reconciliation Day, December 16, 2024, marks the beginning of our Grand Tour of the Story Bus 2025/2026. This important day, rooted in the legacy of Nelson Mandela, symbolizes unity and reconciliation. The Story Bus will travel across South Africa, uniting children and communities through storytelling, art, and the universal language of Ubuntu.
Join in the Adventure!
Though the tour takes place in South Africa, children worldwide are invited to join. Share letters, artwork, or video messages and connect with children from across South Africa; a country that is made up of an array of different cultures.
Your stories will become part of our online library, displayed as greeting cards and exchanged across cultures, fostering a unique dialogue across borders.
Programs to Connect and Inspire Children
across the Globe
Our unique programs—like My Home, My World, The Flower Children, and What Makes Your Heart Smile?—foster creativity and belonging, connecting children globally.
The first campaign, What Makes Your Heart Smile?, invites you to share your story and spread joy before our tour begins.
“The Flowers make my heart smile” ~ Vladia
Why Flowers?
Flowers symbolize growth, connection and resilience. They inspire our upcoming storybook, The Flower Children, which showcases children’s stories, using flowers as a universal language to bridge divides and nurture friendships across the globe. Much like flowers that thrive in varied ecosystems, children from different cultures and environments find ways to flourish and connect.
Support the Story Bus
By sponsoring this journey, you give children the opportunity to express themselves through workshops in art, photography, and storytelling, enabling them to share their experiences and dreams. Together, we’re building a global library of children’s voices—a powerful space for unity in diversity.
Your Impact
Your support directly sponsors a child’s participation, enabling them to explore creativity, build friendships, and dream of a brighter future.
This is not the first time that we have done this..
The leader of the Story Bus Tour is our founder, Vladia. Our first expedition took place across Southern and Eastern Africa. Children from Kenya, Botswana, Namibia and Tanzania exchanged stories with children across Europe, Australia and Canada. This planted the seeds for our first book – Our Story – bringing children’s stories to life around the world in the spirit of Ubuntu.
